Boys Town:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Parent Trainer coordinates, plans, and conducts training for Common Sense Parenting. This position also maintains and communicates information to others regarding Common Sense Parenting training. Bilingual not required however bilingual applicants are encouraged,
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:
o Presents Common Sense Parenting classes as needed.
o Establishes and maintains a safe and productive learning environment (i.e. role plays, question and answer sessions, one on one sessions).
o Coordinates additional services as part of class preparation (i.e. childcare, food).
o Reviews survey responses to improve presentations.
o Collects and enters performance data into the National Data Base as well as any additional contract specific data.
o Coaches parents effectively to apply course content.
o Maintains all equipment and supplies in good condition.
o Utilizes own vehicle to travel to conduct training.
o Represents the organization with community engagement efforts and solicits potential funders.
o Collaborates frequently in the effort to reach participants and motivates them to attend and complete Common Sense Parenting classes.
o May present short informational or marketing sessions to entice parents to attend Common Sense Parenting classes.
o Acts as a liaison with community organizations striving to partner with a parent education program.
o Travels to conduct outreach activities.
o Successfully completes the Common Sense Parenting Training for Trainers Workshop and maintains training credentials.
o Participates in credentialing and program evaluation activities including videotaping or direct observation of training sessions.
o Participates with supervisor in active self-development as a trainer to support participant growth and as a parent through attendance at consultation meetings and review of consumer feedback.
o Completes required professional training workshops.
o Directs all activities towards the fulfillment of the Boys Town mission
o Directs all actions to reflect the values and principles of Boys Town
o Establishes and maintains an environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and ethical behavior
o Maintains regular, reliable and predictable attendance
o Supports other members of the management team and their work
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires little to moderate physical activity. Handling of average-weight objects up to 20 pounds, or standing and/or walking or at a keyboard, workstation, or desk.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically in a normal office administrative or classroom environment involving minimal exposure to physical risks.
