The Infrastructure Automation Engineer designs, implements, and maintains automation platforms such as VRA to deploy VMWare virtual machines, Rundeck for job scheduling, and Ansible for configuration management. This position will also serve a role as an aide in resolving system and application issues, developing system images, and system configuration tasks.   • Engineers and maintains Infrastructure Automation systems
  • Installs, maintains, administrates, and troubleshoots Linux servers and appliances.
  • Identifies repetitive infrastructure tasks and automates them.
  • Works with end-users to develop automation workflows and implements.
  • Assists in designing and implementing changes, improvements, or installation of automation
  • systems and works with internal developers to support applications.
  • Assists with integrating Linux systems into central authentication (AD) and monitoring systems.
  • Assist with implementing security guidelines for OS and Infrastructure automation platforms.
  • Supports authentication methodologies including Radius, Kerberos, and certificate based
  • authentication.
  • Collaborates with operation staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems
  • for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Maintains technical adherence to external compliance mandates and implements policies and
  • procedures.
  • Assists with engineering and implementations of network and operating system solutions.
  • Conducts routine Linux Operating System technical server support and maintenance, with a focus on proactive problem resolution and growth forecasting.
  • Provides orientation and training to end users for modified and new systems.
  • Automate system deployment and management tasks to enable private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
  • Supports and maintains IT automation infrastructure.
  • Creates required reports in response to business user needs.
  • Stays current on emerging technologies related to Automation and Linux systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent preferred, but combination of Linux certifications and experience maybe substituted.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of systems and applications; experience with systems planning and security.
  • VMware, vRA, Redhat, Rundeck, JavaScript, and/or Shell experience preferred.
  • Experience in the following technologies/languages desirable: Rundeck, VMware ESXi, VMware vRealize Automation, Ansible, JavaScript, Bash and Powershell.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
