Job Title: Manager Safe Schools for the Crisis Hotline
Location: Omaha, NE

Job Summary: The Manager of Safe Schools provides strategic and administrative direction to ensure that services provided under the Safe Schools are fiscally, programmatically sound, and meet all applicable standards and contractual requirements. This position has primary responsibility to be the liaison between contracting agencies and the Hotline. This position also oversees Safe School Tip Line operations and staff responding to crisis calls via the 24-hour Crisis Hotline, and mobile application. Primary schedule will be evenings M-F with flexibility to work daytime for training/meetings when necessary as well as taking on call questions during non-work hours.

  • Supervises and coordinates activities related Safe Schools.
    • Communicates and coordinates efforts with appropriate departments and personnel regarding contract activities.
    • Ensures that all aspects of contracts are in accordance with local, state, federal, and Boys Town policies and procedures.
    • Manages reporting requirements, ensures adequate data collection, complies with submission requirements for data collection and reporting, and collaborates with Agency contractor for evaluation and analysis of services.
    • Monitors and manages budget and project deliverables.
  • Participates in outreach and education activities.
    • Provides presentations to educate families, students and professionals about safe school tip lines and Hotline/Helpline services.
    • Provides regular presentations of data and outcomes to stakeholders.
    • Participates in relevant community stakeholder meetings and work groups to improve statewide school safety.
  • Manages operations and staff.
    • Develops and monitors policies and procedures including reporting guidelines and risk assessments; updates guidelines for handling calls and web contacts.
    • Provides on-call response for school tip-line.
    • Hires, manages, and evaluates staff.
    • Establishes and monitors quality assurance measures and reports to ensure contacts are handled appropriately; coordinates data collection and analysis.
    • Develops and coordinates training, and evaluates and updates current training materials.
    • Liaises between internal staff and external organizations to resolve concerns, measure satisfaction, and follow up on suggestions.
  • Serves as a role model in carrying out the Father Flanagan's Boys' Home mission.


  • Bachelors degree in a Human Services field or equivalent required, Masters preferred.
  • 2 to 4 year of experience including supervisory and crisis intervention preferably in a call center setting.
  • Available to work flexible hours to ensure coverage.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills. Ability to address crisis situations and problem solve.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to crisis care and knowledge of counseling techniques and best practices.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Extensive knowledge of behavior health field, standards, current systems, and service options.
