OVERVIEW OF JOB

The Warehouse, Mail, and Delivery Worker works in the warehouse, completes deliveries, processes mail, and provides administrative support. In this role, you will s ort mail for delivery, choose the correct shipping method in accordance with time and cost constraints, use scales and computing tables to determine proper postage, and review mailing options for cost effectiveness. As our Warehouse, Mail, & Delivery Worker, some of your primary responsibilities will also include:

  • Prepare mail for regular and UPS service; record all registered, certified, insured and bulk mail and track packages and resolve issues regarding old addresses and lost packages.
  • Drive a Boys Town vehicle to pick up and deliver mail, material, large furniture, appliances, and equipment on and off campus.
  • Use a forklift to load and unload incoming orders, stock incoming merchandise, and pull and pack stock orders.
  • Provide administrative support including answering phones, reviewing purchase orders, recording daily costs, updating databases, and tracking mail volume.
  • Complete minor assembly and disassembly of household and office items and rearrange offices, classrooms, and homes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, OR SKILLS

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • 6 months to 1 year of previous experience including warehouse, delivery, or mailroom.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check.
  • Forklift certification or ability to acquire one within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to perform warehouse work including shipping and receiving, and the ability to process and sort mail.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate in an articulate manner.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to drive a 18-foot straight truck or similar vehicle.
  • Position requires moderate to heavy physical activity. Frequent handling of average to heavy weight objects up to 75 pounds and occasionally heavier. Some standing, walking, and sitting at a keyboard, workstation, or desk.
