OVERVIEW OF JOB
As our Painter you will be responsible for completing wall and surface painting and restoration activities. In this role you will prepare surfaces for painting including sanding, paint removal, and filling holes. You will caulk windows and doors, repair furniture and replace damaged wall coverings. You may also actively restore carved wood, desks, chairs, and tables. As our Painter, some of your additional responsibilities will include:
Receiving written information per job order; determining appropriate procedures, material, and equipment necessary to complete work orders; ordering and picking up supplies, parts, or tools.
Painting surfaces with a sprayer, roller, or paintbrush; applying wallpaper and other wall coverings as needed. Installing and applying drywall, plaster, drywall mud, and texture.
Stripping parking lots and athletic fields, creating signs and banners for grounds and special events, and operating computerized vinyl letter and plastic engraving machines.
Maintaining materials such as brushes, rollers, spray guns, ladders, and scaffolding, and maintaining shop facilities and equipment required for maintenance repairs and safety.
Driving Boys Town vehicles as needed to complete duties of the job.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, OR SKILLS
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous painting experience is preferred.
This position is on-call (continuously or rotationally) to provide support; available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
Must possess a valid drivers license with a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check.
