Bellevue University offers quality liberal arts and career-oriented programs at undergraduate and graduate levels to a diverse student body through both in-class and online venues.  Our Registrar team is currently looking for an energetic and knowledgeable individual to fill our Associate Registrar Position.

Primary Responsibility: Promote an environment within the Office of the Registrar that leads to ethical, effective and engaged staff. Lead in the development of systems that tie academic and administrative functions together. Be a resource to internal stakeholders for student information and the management of data flowing into and out of the student information system regarding areas of supervision. Promote transparency through area communication. Incorporate performance based measurement and technology into innovative solutions that are sound, intuitive and scalable. Lead in the utilization of continuous improvement methodology to help achieve industry best practices.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures the integrity of academic student records.
  • Formulates and measures annual strategic objectives within the Registrar's Office that align with and support the university's strategy.
  • Engages in the data compiling and management of institutional reports.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contributes to student success by supporting university admission, persistence and retention activities.
  • Conducts and ensures appropriate application of policy in relation to the Registrar’s Office.
  • Establishes and achieves departmental Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Promotes high ideals of customer focus in interactions with students and other stakeholders.
  • Serves as a leader in FERPA regulations and compliance.
  • Reviews and resolves academic and graduation appeals.

Manages the Team:

  • Supervises daily area resources to ensure effective delivery of services offered by the Registrar's Office.
  • Hires, trains, and manages the team staff.
  • Supervises and develops assigned staff.
  • Provides staff with clear directions and priorities emphasizing quality standards, service, morale building and teamwork.
  • Sets specific goals for staff that align with the strategic business objectives.
  • Monitors and reviews performance of assigned staff on a continuous (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly) basis.
  • Develops and coaches assigned staff to systematically assure the highest quality service.

Other duties as assigned:

  • Hire, train, supervise and annually evaluate assigned staff using Performance Improvement Plans as appropriate.
  • Remains current in field of expertise to ensure registrar operations remain at the industry forefront.
  • Represents the registrar's office on assigned committees.
  • Supports preparation activities for the Commencement Ceremony.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor degree required.
  • Graduate degree in student services, educational administration, or related field, preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience in records and registrar's office1 preferred.
  • Three (3) years of managerial experience, required.
  • Ability to monitor and manage department budget and resources, required.
  • Conflict resolution skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail and computer-related analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Models effective leadership using a collaborative-philosophy.
  • Effective use of technology including the university’s academic and administrative systems (PeopleSoft, Document Management Software and various solutions based software platforms).
  • A high degree of confidentiality in handling all student record information and general Registrar Office business is mandated.
