Bellevue University is seeking a full time faculty member to fill the Assistant Professor - Systems and Network Administration Program (SNAP) position in the College of Science and Technology.  Bellevue University offers SNAP to a diverse student body through both in-class and online delivery. 

This position is best filled by an experienced system/network administrator and educator.  The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate expertise in many areas of information technology, including operating systems, networking, web and email servers, virtualization, and information security.  The ideal candidate will have direct, hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux and Microsoft operating systems, network routing and switching, Apache and Microsoft IIS Web servers, Microsoft Exchange servers, computer and network security, and virtualization technologies.

Essential Duties:

  • Serves as program director for SNAP
  • Teaches SNAP courses
  • Oversee other Networking and Administration courses
  • Selects and manages full-time faculty and adjunct professors for SNAP cohorts
  • Develops and maintains SNAP curricula in both online and classroom formats at the undergraduate level
  • Participates in program assessment, student advising, and committee / community service
  • Maintains academic and professional qualifications in systems and network administration

Qualifications/Skills:

  • MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field required; PhD in like fields desirable
  • At least 2 years of relevant industry experience in system/network administration outside of academia
  • Current certifications in UNIX/Linux, Microsoft, networking, computer security, or related fields desired
  • Experience in teaching and curriculum development at the post-secondary level across a broad spectrum of Information technology topics and courses desired
  • A commitment to excellence in teaching and scholastic activities
