Bellevue University offers quality liberal arts and career-oriented programs at undergraduate and graduate levels to a diverse student body through both in-class and online venues.  Our Enterprise Applications Team is currently looking for an energetic and knowledgeable individual to fill our Programmer Analyst I Position.

Primary Function:  The Programmer Analyst is responsible for the support of designing, delivering systems and system upgrades which includes web application development and enterprise application development within the Oracle-PeopleSoft ERP system. The position will assist in design, develop and delivery of high quality solutions using JavaScript, PHP, PeopleCode, PeopleTools, SQL, SQR and other programming languages/techniques. This position is also responsible for designing, building, deploying and maintaining enterprise software programs and applications throughout the software development life cycle. The Programmer Analyst is responsible for assisting faculty, staff, and technology teams to detail business requirements in developing software solutions delivered through the enterprise systems.  The Programmer Analyst will take part in the review of new technology and changes to existing products.


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience developing software applications - experience with PeopleTools, PeopleCode, SQL, PeopleSoft SQR, preferred.
  • Experience developing within the Student Information System Campus Solutions 9.0, 9.2 required.
  • Experience with relational databases - experience using Oracle databases and PeopleSoft ERP highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and coding experience for the Blackboard LMS system highly desired.
  • Familiarity with PeopleTools 8.5x and higher including Application Engine, Application Messaging, Workflow, XML, Component Interfaces and Integration Broker preferred.
  • Experience coding and integration with Salesforce highly desired.
  • Experience with integration technology solutions like Mulesoft and/or other API, web services experience highly desired.
  • Knowledge of coding methods and best practices, the Software development life cycle, and change management.
  • Knowledge of integrating enterprise applications such as ERP systems
  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software is necessary.
  • Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and change management.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully within a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to analyze software-related issues and products.
  • Programmer should be a highly self-motivated, organized, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player and exhibit exceptional relationship management skills.
  • Ability to self-initiate and manage a diverse set of activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain strict level of confidentiality in the handling of account and sensitive information.
  • Flexibility and the ability to operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to develop and maintain of solid working relationships with internal/external customers. 
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
