What is AIM IT Leadership Academy?

AIM IT Leadership Academy (AITLA) is an annual management course for IT professionals. The program consists of one, full-day of training each month for seven months ( October 2018– May 2019 ). Each session will focus on a common on-the-job issue faced by IT managers. Today’s IT managers need effective leadership and management skills to deal with the challenge of global competition and a changing workforce. To address this growing need, AIM and its business members have collaborated to create the annual AIM IT Leadership Academy (AITLA). The goal of AITLA is to enhance leadership skills that are essential for current and upcoming IT Managers.  

Schedule

The IT Leadership Academy will consist of an Orientation, seven full-day sessions, one per month and a graduation ceremony.  

Participate

You must apply to participate, and participation is limited. It is mandatory that participants attend at least six of the seven sessions to complete and graduate from the IT Leadership Academy.  Participants are also encouraged to attend a two hour orientation in October.  Criteria for selection include leadership potential, motivation, ability to identify and meet IT challenges, and interest in the IT Leadership Academy itself.  The application deadline is September 10, 2018.  Applicants will be notified of their selection into the IT Leadership Academy by September 17, 2018.  Applicants are encouraged to reapply the following year if they are not selected.  

2018-2019 Steering Committee

AIM is coordinating the program under the guidance and direction of a volunteer Steering Committee, comprised of IT managers from small-, medium- and large-size companies representing the diverse industries in the region.  

Tuition

Corporate Participants – AIM Members $3,500
Corporate Participants – Non-AIM Members $3,750
Nonprofit Participants & Small Business (30 employees or less) $2,500
This fee includes all materials, Emergenetics Profile® Assessment, meals, refreshments, local and national speakers, and access to unique leadership development activities and ongoing support that will lead to both substantive personal growth and a measurable impact on the sponsoring company.  

Payment Schedule

Tuition payments for all participants enrolling in the AIM IT Leadership Academy are due in full on November 1, 2018.  AIM will consider requests for payment arrangements. All such requests should be made in writing and state the circumstances warranting a payment plan and identify a proposed payment schedule. Requests must be submitted by October 4, 2018 to: Sherry Beglin.  

Cancellation Policy

In order for participants to receive a full refund, they must withdraw before Orientation. Participants who withdraw from the program during the period spanning the Orientation in October through the first session in November will be refunded at a rate of 50%. If withdrawal occurs after November 1, participants will be obligated to AIM for the full tuition amount. Refunds will be generated within 30 business days of receipt of the written notice of withdrawal.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be accepted from individuals working in the Omaha Metro Area. A Selection Committee selects participants based on the Information provided on their application form, criteria for selection includes leadership potential, motivation, ability to identify and meet IT challenges and interest in the program. Class size is limited. September 10, 2018 is the application deadline for the 2018-2019 session. Applicants will be notified of their selection into the IT Leadership Academy by September 17, 2018.
