This post-doctoral position will be part of a team effort to investigate neuroAIDS molecular mechanisms and HIV-induced vascular dysfunction using in vivo and in vitro techniques, and animal models. More specifically, the individual will conduct experiments to study HIV genotyping, gene sequencing and molecular events associated with dysfunction of microvasculature in HIV-1 associated neurocognitive disorders and HIV-associated lung diseases. The individual will work with other members in the research team to perform multiple functional in vivo and in vitro studies. For these studies this person will utilize mouse models in association with flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry analyses and advanced molecular biology (molecular cloning, gene transfection and expression, siRNA technology).
