Physicians Mutual is looking for a Quality Engineer for our Enterprise Technology Group. A successful candidate will build and maintain systems faster and cheaper with higher quality and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements regular quality control checks, reviews, and audits of projects to ensure compliance with defined processes, procedures, and standards. 
• Develops and implements quality control checks to ensure compliance with company standards and procedures. 
• Documents and reports review and audit discrepancies and noncompliance issues. 
• Maintains and improves processes associated with project reviews, QIs, code reviews, approvals, and audits. 
• Trains and mentors ETG personnel on review and QI processes.

Job Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Software Engineering, Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience. 
• Approximately 5+ years experience working with information systems, project management, and development processes. 
• Experience with various software methodologies such as traditional SDLC and RUP. 
• Experience with quality processes and development of review and audit processes. 
• Strong knowledge of software industry quality models and practices (SEI CMM, ISO-9000, Malcolm Baldridge Award, etc.).
• Knowledge of Rational tool suite, Microsoft Office, and project management tools.
• Basic analysis and/or problem solving skills to identify and to propose solutions for software development and maintenance process problems.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, along with self-confidence necessary to negotiate and ensure processes and standards are adhered to and refined.
• Strong organizational skills in order to work on a wide variety of activities with overlapping deadlines.
• Self-motivated in order to work under minimal supervision.
