To participate in the scheduling of special Dobutamine and Transesophageal Echocardiograms, Stress Testing,and other specialty procedures. To provide nursing support, administer medication, and provide patient care as required during these procedures. Coordinate and participate in research projects and assist with data collection and reporting, as requested.Provide orientation and educational experiences for nursing students and other health care professionals. Provide training in contrast utilization and administration for nursing staff involved in Echocardiography procedures at other locations. Current RN license. Associates degree required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Two years' critical care, emergency servicesor cardiology background. Qualified in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support. Excellent decision-making skills and ability to work independently. KNowledge of Cardiology and heart disease issues. Knowledge of common cardiac medications and medication compatibility. Knowledge of side effects and allergy effects. Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and EKG interpretation. Ability to direct codes and other clinical emergencies. Ability to obtain and interpret appropriate lab values for patients undergoing special procedures.
