Performs quality diagnostic medical sonograms under the supervision of a qualified radiologist, to ensure accurate and appropriate imaging information for use in diagnosis and treatment. Participates in research relating to ultrasound, in support of the organizational mission. Effectively works to: 1)coordinate the required resources for diagnostic ultrasound service delivery; 2)problem solves and expedites communication with other health care providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes; and 3) demonstrates active involvement in the Ultrasound Department operations and decision making by modeling effective work group processes and fiscal responsibility. Current ARDMS certification or candidate for ARDMS registry examinations. Candidates are required to become certified within 1 year of hire date. Completion of a CAAHEP accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or comparable work experience in the practice speciality of abdomen and OB/Gyn, required. Formal education or work experience in neurosonology and vascular ultrasound preferred but not required. Current ARRT or CNMT certification preferred, but not required. Current BCLS certification required. BS degree preferred but not required.
