The Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services is looking for a Long- Term Care Programs Administrator to administer the planning, implementation, and coordination of Medicaid long-term care supports provided through state plan services and home and community-based waivers. This position is responsible for a budget of about $500 million in services. Act as a liaison with state and federal representatives, trade associations, advocacy groups and providers to exchange information. Manage additional state-funded or federal/ state-funded programs that support persons who are elderly or have disabilities. Participate in policy decisions, budget planning and implementation. Design and coordinate the implementation of projects. Develop and review policies, legislation and grant applications. Manage a staff of around 40 individuals.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, business and/or a related field. Equivalent years of work experience may substitute for education. Must have progressively responsible supervisory experience. Experience with Medicaid and long term care (LTC) preferred. Possess strong understanding of state, federal and local regulations with the ability to be a team leader and work in a unified atmosphere. Excellent organization and communication skills. Ability to facilitate and spearhead major project initiatives. Require valid driver's license or ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
