This position will initially train on site at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. After training period completed, possibility to work from home.
Job Duties:
- Promotes positive relations when interacting with co-workers, physicians, and other customers, as well as patients and visitors.
- As assigned, transcribe clinic notes, behavioral health, EAP, radiology, anatomic pathology, rehab notes, diagnostic test results, radiation oncology, nutrition, cardiopulmonary rehab, and other assigned medical/psychiatric reports from a variety of medical care providers to ensure timely distribution of medical reports essential to patient care by transcribing dictation in approved format and meeting departmental standards for speed and accuracy.
- Create accurate patient records by selecting the following: correct patient name, correct episode, correct facility, correct anticipated entry, correct physician, correct report type, correct date of service/admission/dictation, and correct carbon copies.
- Regularly complete end of day procedure.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- English usage, spelling and grammar.
- Formal class in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology preferred.
- Typing ability at a minimum of 60 words per minute.
- Basic computer skills including use of word processing software.
