Requirements

• BS in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university
• Eligible for licensure in the State of Nebraska
• CPR certification and certification from the AOTA
• Knowledge of theory and practice for physcial disabilities, equipment, and devices used for the treatment of physical disabilities
• Skills in the evaluation and treatment of physcial disability patients, the proper use of and maintenance of Rehab OT equipment, and organizing and planning multiple responsibilities
• The ability to communicate to all levels of hospital employees and patients, work independently, and reach goals

Job Functions

• Provide general supervision for students doing field work, techs, and volunteers working in the department
• Attend mandatory and educational in-services
• Participate in community and hospital programs promoting Rehab OT services
• Properly conduct research and present new ideas and new programs
• Properly evaluate and assess patient needs
• Establish and implement treatment plans; educate patients and families on use of equipment or exercise programs
• Complete all patient progress reports and notes; complete physician reports
• Properly schedule patient treatments and prepare patient charges and variance reports
• Assist with performance improvement program
• Assist in maintaining the appearance of the department and ordering of equipment and supplies
