Job Requirements

• Post secondary education to attain the knowledge requirements in ICD-9-CM, E & M and CPT coding procedures, DRG and APC systems, medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, medical records assembly, retrieval and computer operating skills. 
• RHIT, RHIA, CCP or CCS required. 
• Active AHIMA member preferred.

Job Experience 

• Requires knowledge of ICD-9-CM coding procedure, CPT, and E & M coding procedure, APC and DRG system, human anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, medical records assembly and retrieval, and confidentiality requirements for medical record information. 
• Requires skills in basic office machines, i.e., copier, calculator, work independently, pay attention to details in a fast paced environment, adapt to change, communicate both verbally and in writing, decipher handwritten record entries, work under stress, and utilize reference material.
