Provide new employee safety training as well as coordinating the ongoing employee safety training program. Maintain the college’s written safety plan. Assist supervisors with identifying, developing and delivering safety training on topics such as general workplace safety, fire safety, blood borne disease, electrical, mechanical, vehicle and confined space safety and first aid/CPR to employees. Coordinate all hazardous material disposal and maintain documentation of all safety training, budget expenditures and other records as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree plus three years full-time related occupational experience in workplace safety required. Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered. Knowledge of applicable OSHA standards, laws and requirements regarding employee safety committees and employer safety responsibilities strongly preferred. Position is contingent upon MCC Board of Governors approval. Hiring process includes a background check. Official transcripts required at the time of hire. NOTE: College degrees obtained outside the U.S. accepted only when interpreted by transcript service members of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
