	Responsibilities
	ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but is not necessarily limited to the following: ¿ Develop and grow specialized substation engineering group including development of standard processes and deliverables. ¿ May serve as lead engineer for electric utility related high and extra-high voltage substation projects. ¿ Define design criteria, conceptual design, design calculations and insulation design for projects. ¿ Equipment selection and sizing, general arrangement plans, control building layouts, and schematic development for various projects. ¿ Prepare specifications for the procurement of substation materials, structures and other associated substation equipment. ¿ Develop cost estimates, schedules and budgets for projects. ¿ Provide engineering support to resolve technical issues that may arise in the different project phases. ¿ Provide technical direction, guidance, and training to junior engineers. ¿ Manage project budgets including support disciplines. ¿ Some fieldwork may be required.
	Qualifications
	Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university program.  This position requires a minimum of ten years experience in  high and extra-high voltage substation design work.  A Professional Engineer license is preferred.  Candidate must have knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws, regulations and the National Electric Safety Codes.
