HDR is currently in need of a Structural Engineer to work as a member of our Alexandria, VA Architecture office. This individual will be expected to lead structural design efforts for vertical projects. This will involve traditional structural design work, cutting building sections, and helping to oversee the work of junior engineers and CADD technicians. They will also be expected to prepare calculations, specifications, and notes for design, and then file and organize them in a coherent fashion.

Bachelors Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required.

Masters Degree in Architectural Engineering or a Structural Engineering emphasis preferred.

PE required.

10+ years structural engineering experience as it relates to building design.

Computer knowledge Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS or similar software a must.

Experience as it relates to healthcare, government, and research facilities a huge plus and strongly preferred.
