HDR Engineering, Inc. seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer in our Alexandria, VA office to perform municipal water and wastewater distribution, collection and treatment projects. Duties: create detailed designs of water/wastewater treatment and collection/distribution systems, including preparing plans and specifications, site layouts, and equipment sizing and selection; pump stations, evaluate treatment alternatives and prepare cost opinions, life cycle cost analyses, and process calculations; perform hydraulic analysis calculations and develop hydraulic profiles; prepare process and civil design drawings; coordinate with CAD technicians for construction plans production. BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering. MS preferred.

PE preferred.

4+ years of experience.

Demonstrated work experience must include designing water and wastewater pipeline and pump station and water and wastewater treatment processes; process and civil designs; preparation of preliminary design reports and cost opinions.

Working skills with hydraulic modeling for sewer and water conveyance systems would be preferred.

AutoCad experience preferred.

Microsoft Office experience required.

Ability to work both independently and with a project team for completion of a task
