The Public Involvement Specialist will support public involvement and communication activities with clients, staff and sub-consultants. This position will engage in strategic planning for public involvement activities, including stakeholder outreach consistent with project objectives. The PI Specialist will plan and design formal and informal open houses, formal public meetings, and provide documentation of outreach activities as stand-alone reports and as sections of documents including NEPA documentation. The PI Specialist will coordinate meetings for complex engineering and related projects. Duties will also include computer applications for activities such as web design & maintenance, desktop publishing, and limited graphic design. The PI Specialist will design and manage public involvement databases including database development, reporting, and refinement of data. Bachelors degree in Planning or related field. 5+ years of experience in designing, developing and implementing public involvement plans. Experience conducting public meetings and preparing/writing public involvement strategic plans and reports. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Service and client oriented personality, with the ability to handle multiple assignments at the same time.



MS Office Suite experience required.

Desired computer expertise in desktop publishing and graphic design programs. Web layout background including some experience with CSS. Knowledge of web analytics/metrics. Experience using social networking programs desirable.
