Position Description
  • HDR is an employee-owned architectural, engineering, planning and consulting firm that excels at helping clients manage complex projects and make sound decisions. Approximately 7,400 professionals, including architects, engineers, consultants, scientists, planners and construction managers, in more than 165 locations worldwide, pool their strengths to provide solutions beyond the scope of traditional A/E/C firms.
The Information Security Network Analyst plays a key role in upholding the policies and standards of HDR. This person will be evaluating network vulnerabilities, developing an audit structure, and identifying requirements for new technology as it relates to security. Daily tasks will include monitoring security logs for potential problems and participating in HDR security initiatives and tasks as well as other duties to be assigned.

Primary Duties:

  • Computer and Network Security.
  • Maintain a current network map to be utilized in other security duties.
  • Monitor access changes, authorization control mechanisms, and system/network compliance.
  • Assist in the creation and management of HDR Security Policies
  • Assist in security/intrusion protection and Audits
  • Monitors Internet connections, firewalls and VPN connectivity
  • Security Monitoring and Reporting (review current utilities and tools that are used to see if there are other applications where they can be utilized)
  • Participate in incident response activities when appropriate.
  • Planning and Decision Support - Plan information security based on business needs and the manageability of technology based on R&D, current technology and risk assessments. Provide Security / Intrusion Protection as well as audits and monitors Internet connections, firewalls and VPN connectivity.
  • Research & Development - Conduct research and keep abreast of promising system security processes and tools that meet or are expected to meet current and future business needs. Follow security-related trends, laws and regulations to provide strategy and tactics aligned with industry best practices.
  • IT Standards - Specify, support and enforce information security system standards. Provide security education and training to IT Staff and coordinate recommendations for company-wide security training.
  • IT Customer Support - Provide customer support for IT security which supports the business.
Normal hours: M-F 8am-5pm, hours will need to be flexible and may require some weekends and nights.

  • Bachelor degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum three years of Information Security experience or comparable experience in related IS area.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
