Position Description

Approximately 7,400 professionals, including architects, engineers, consultants, scientists, planners and construction managers, in more than 165 locations worldwide, pool their strengths to provide solutions beyond the scope of traditional A/E/C firms.

The Advanced Technologies and Engineering (AT&E) manager has overall responsibility for providing technical architecture advice and direction for the HDR technology environment. The team lead by this individual provides the research on new technologies and applicability to HDR's business needs. This on-going assessment will allow HDR to effectively utilize technology to accomplish organizational goals. The AT&E manager is responsible for providing input and recommendations to senior IT management on the contents of the IT strategic plan. In support of the strategic plan, the AT&E team facilitates the development and maintenance of the Technology Roadmap which identifies vendor directions on technology plans, lifecycles, and implications to HDR's technology deployments. The Advanced Technologies and Engineering Manager is responsible for effectively collaborating with business units and other IT teams to develop effective IT plans in support of on-going business functions. *Provides input and direction to the overall technical architecture strategy for the IT department *Oversees the tasks and deliverables on assigned projects that are led by the Adv. Tech and Eng. team *Conducts assessments of emerging technology and provides recommendations to senior IT management on applicability to HDR *Conducts personnel performance reviews and on-going staff performance coaching *Supports career development for staff through individual goals and objectives development and review *Participation in tactical and strategic plan development of the IT business plan *Communicate the technology roadmap and strategy for the organization *Provide technical advice and recommendations when needed to HDR business units regarding solutions for business related initiatives *Leadership for development and maintenance of the IT Technology Roadmap *Approves and oversees the team and individual training plans for the section to ensure adequate staff knowledge exists *Interacts and works closely with other IT section managers, IT directors, as well as operating company representatives to ensure business and technical needs are met. *Remains current on technology trends and advancements *Conducts seminars and presentations to HDR management as required to articulate emerging technologies and applicability to the HDR business model *Administration and accountability for the Adv.
