The primary duties of the Bridge Inspection Technician include working under general supervision of a senior bridge inspector. Conducts National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) inspections, writes field inspection reports and performs basic mathematical calculations. Field inspections will be performed from ground level, an inspection crane lift device or through the use of an assisted-climbing technique. Must attend and successfully complete a PennDOT bridge safety inspection training course to become a Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI) within one year of the hire date.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be willing and capable of working in a high elevation environment. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe) preferred. Strong written communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team required. This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing.
