DUTIES: Receive incoming inquiries from dental insureds, dental offices, group administrators, agents/brokers, and any representative acting on behalf of policyowners. Respond to a wide variety of inquiries regarding verification and classification of policy benefits for Dental, Disability, and Life products. Correctly interpret Dental, Disability, and Life claims in order to explain claim status, procedures, and contract provisions. Contact dental care providers, policyholders, and their representatives, as needed, to obtain or verify information to handle claims to completion. Correctly interpret contract provisions. Research various policy owner requests utilizing appropriate systems, contract language, and any other reference materials.
REQUIREMENTS: College degree or equivalent work experience. Three years of experience in insurance industry and/or service industry strongly preferred. Requires multiple automated system skills, telephony, and client service skills. Ability to work under pressure to handle call-volumes, problem solve independently, and to meet deadlines. Effective at handling conflict. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have a clear understanding of risk as it relates to dental, disability, and life contracts. Functional understanding of the dental, disability, and life claims process along with the true and voluntary group products. (Measured by proficiency assessments after training). Functional understanding of dental, disability, and medical terminology. (Measured by proficiency assessments). Regular and predictable attendance is required.
