SUMMARY:

 The Human Service Technician supervises and assists residents in learning and practicing new behaviors, including responsibility with assignment and chores.  This position ensures a clean and safe environment for clients and staff, communicates with all staff on the status of residents, presents lectures to clients, is responsible for the admission/discharge process, meal preparation, schedules client medical appointments, documents observations of residents and assures compliance with house and program rules and procedures.  The positions will be various hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE.

• Complete new patient admissions and proper documentation of medication
• Monitors vital signs and mental status functioning of individuals.
• Observe and record resident self-administration of medication.
• Provides therapeutic interventions for inappropriate/unacceptable behaviors by helping residents identify what s/he needs and new ways of handling the situation.
• Conducts random/situational room searches, pat searches and drug screens.
• Must comply with Agency policies and procedures, including those regarding conduct, confidentiality, and record keeping.
• Identify and document changes in behaviors, and notify other staff as needed.
• Record keeping

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Ability to type, file, photocopy, collate, shred, and organize files and answer the phone.

·         Willing to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

·         If recovering, a minimum of two years continuous sobriety is required.

·         Over the age of 21.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
• The Overnight Staff must remain awake during their entire shift.

Nebraska license with a good driving/safety record.
