Panhandle Coop Job Description

 

Job Title:     Sales Rep –Agronomist                         

Department:  Crop Production

Reports To:   Location or Branch Manager

 

SUMMARY Focus on promoting sales; provide excellent customer service; and model creative selling skills to support location goals and company profit goals. 

 

TASKS

  1. Contacts and sells the crop production departments products and services to patrons, producers and customers.  Time in the field working with producers accounts for 60% of this task. 
  2. Assists in scheduling and directing custom application at location. 
  3. Responsible for turning in accurate billing within 72 hours of delivery. 
  4. Assists with inventory control of fertilizer, ag chemicals and seed.
  5. Resolves customer complaints related to the crop production division.
  6. Gain knowledge of patron's fields by scouting for disease, weeds, insects and fertility.
  7. Responsible for acquiring credit applications and the collection of accounts receivables. 
  8. Maintains accurate written records on all patron's field plans and recommendations.
  9. Coordinate with producers on fertilizer and chemical test plots.
  10. Performs any actions necessary to fulfill the strategic plan of the division and assure the success of the coop.
  11. All other duties assigned by supervisor. 

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to travel.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSE, REGISTRATIONS

Must have valid drivers license that meets MVR standards of company. A commercial driver’s license with class C and hazmat endorsement is a plus; Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification preferred.

 

 

TECHNOLOGY AND TOOLS

Ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of Helena inventory management and product software. 

 

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of sales and marketing, mathematics, computers and electronics, English Language, customer and personnel service, and administration. 

 

SKILLS

Judgment and decision making, instructing, equipment and maintenance, troubleshooting, active learning, critical thinking, reading comprehension, active listening, service orientation, social perceptiveness, equipment selection and maintenance, time management.
