Position Description

MECHANIC-ASE Certified

Repairs and services customer vehicles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Raise vehicle on hoist in order to prepare estimate or service the vehicle.
  • Examine the vehicle and prepare itemized work order including a listing of parts and labor costs.
  • Make adjustments or repairs such as brake adjustments, transmission flush, glass repair etc.
  • Make more involved repairs involving brakes, exhaust, front end, shocks, struts, alignment and engine repairs.
  • Review estimate with customer in order to sell the repairs in a fast friendly and professional manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid drivers license necessary with MVR that meets standards. Also must maintain ASE certification.
