Position Description
DELL PEROT SYSTEMS is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. It is currently looking for a DESKSIDE SUPPORT SPECIALIST to join our team in Boston, MA.

**Must be local to the Boston area for consideration.

Responsibilities:

:

  • Develop and maintain existing Systems Management Server (SMS) environment
  • Develop patching/update plan and further develop hardware and software inventory plans
  • Work with network, server and application teams as well as vendor to complete project related tasks
  • Resolves hardware and software problems expeditiously and with minimum disruption to computer system users and coordinates hardware repairs with vendors, when appropriate
  • Customize and repackage software and remotely deploy using SMS or vbscript
  • Enhance automation using SMS and/or vbscript
  • Maintains desktop hardware and software configuration documentation
  • Updates problem/project-tracking records in a timely manner

    Required Skills:
  • 3+ years desktop support experience (enterprise environment preferred)
  • 3+ years of Windows 2000/XP experience
  • SMS/SCCM administration experience in an enterprise environment including inventory, software deployment and patching
  • Knowledge of industry standards
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Customer focused attitude
  • Ability to lift and move 45 pounds on a consistent basis

    Desired Skills:
  • Task-oriented and require attention to detail
  • Project task or project management experience with an industry standard project management methodology
  • Some application packaging experience
  • Some imaging experience with ghost/Windows Deployment Services
  • VBScript experience
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in determining work and problem resolution priorities and approaches
  • Background in healthcare, preferably in a hospital environment or 24/7 environment
  • Experience with Citrix/thin client computing a plus
  • Ability to develop and maintain technical and process documentation

    Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma
  • Some college or equivalent work experience

    Minimum Certifications:
  • A+ certification a plus
  • MCP certification a plus
