Position Description
Dell Perot Systems is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for an Applications Director to join our team in Phoenix, AZ.

Responsibilities:

:

Direct the work activity of development groups which enhance existing systems applications and facilitate the definition of solutions to meet business requirements. Oversees major and complex applications development projects including staff. Defines systems scope, objectives and human resources in order to solve highly complex problems. Recognized regionally and internally as a technical and subject matter expert in a specialized field.

Work directly with customer senior management at the Director and VP level to determine needs and propose solutions. Recommends changes and improvements to customers on best use of systems to improve operations. Keeps abreast of the current and future directions of the business industry and associated technologies. Makes recommendations for implementation of new systems and technologies where appropriate. Prepares project proposals and develops project plans. Leads technical groups on major programs/projects and interacts with customer to keep appropriate management abreast of status. Ensures all related applications are consistent with overall organization business strategies. Participates in long-range planning for new or existing systems. Provides leadership on assigned projects. Acts as a resource to assist project staff in the development process. Provides training and guidance to less experienced staff. Manages performance and development of reporting staff. Responsible for budgeting, personnel actions, recruiting, training, development and performance management of direct reports. Responsible for the administrative functions required for the department or group including resource management, staffing, inventory, environment, scheduling, project oversight, management reporting and budgeting.

Required Skills:
  • 5+ years in Hospital Operations and ITO Contracts.
  • 5+ years of direct leadership experience.
  • 10+ years in information technology in healthcare and at least one or more major application areas (clinical, business patient revenue cycle, application development), and has a broad working knowledge of systems solutions.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires ability to interact and become a trusted adviser to senior level customer personnel at the Director and Vice Presidential level.

    Desired Skills:
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in programming and analysis, with significant exposure to multiple platforms and systems.

    Minimum Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree or advanced degree preferred.
