Responsibilities:

The Medical Records Rep I is responsible for collecting, assembling, monitoring deficiencies and physician's incomplete files; maintaining and making available to authorized users, accurate and complete patient health information in a timely manner. Releasing clinical information for continuing patient care, patient requests, court orders and subpoenas according to established procedures and maintaining the integrity of HIM chart tracking database.
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintains the medical records by filing accurately in a timely manner
Responsible for picking up charts from the floors
Identify and locates missing reports and documentation
Maintains integrity of HIM chart tracking database
Efficiently handles inbound/outbound calls
Maintains the highest level of strict confidentiality with patient information per established department policy
Required Skills:
Minimum of 1 year medical/hospital office experience
Must possess excellent customer service skills with verbal and written communication
Excellent interpersonal skills
Must have above average computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Possess excellent filing skills with experience in numeric processing
Minimum typing skills of 35 wpm
Desired Skills:
1 year experience in Health Information Management(Medical Records)
Knowledge of computerized chart tracking system preferred
Knowledge of functions and relationships of departments within a hospital environment preferred
Minimum Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma
