JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing assistance and giving personal care to residents as assigned by immediate supervisor, for which training and competency has been demonstrated. Responsible for providing quality care by competently and thoroughly addressing the physical, mental and psychosocial needs of residents.
This position is responsible for working to fulfill the goals and objectives of the Nursing Department and Tabitha Home, Inc. Responsible for delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations and for upholding the mission and standards of the facility.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
-Must possess a genuine interest in geriatric care and compassion for elderly.
-Must possess a flexible attitude toward differing cultures and life styles.
-Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
-Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
-Must possess the ability to plan and organize
-Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
-Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
-Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
-Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
EDUCATION/TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Is at least 16 years of age.
Is of good moral character.
Is listed on State Registry in good standing or must complete a state approved training course
(75 hours) within the first 120 days of employment including competency testing.
High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience as an aide in a hospital, nursing home, or home care setting preferred.
