JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for the clinical management of the overall plan of care, including assessing, implementing, coordinating, evaluating and documenting comprehensive in-home services for hospice clients. This position is responsible for delivery of quality service, promoting good public relations, and for upholding the mission and standards of the facility. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Excellent physical assessment skills required. Knowledge of and ability to apply hospice nursing principles and practices. Knowledge of teaching/learning principles, environmental hazards and good safety practices. Ability to: - exercise independent nursing judgment - supervise and assign work to others - perform CPR - assemble, record, and present data in a concise, organized systematic manner - teach clients and families LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Current Nebraska Registered Nurse licensure. Valid Current CPR certification required. EDUCATION/TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE Graduation from NLN accredited school of nursing required. BSN preferred. Two years of acute care/long term care nursing experience within the last five years required. Experience in community health and/or hospice preferred.
