Position Description
Description
This member of the pharmacy staff assists the pharmacist in performing their duties. Under direct supervision of the pharmacist, assist in the preparation of unit dose medications, IV piggybacks, large volume parenterals, total parenteral nutrition solutions and enteral feeding solutions. Other duties include: preparation and processing of purchase orders, management of receipt and stock of pharmaceutical supplies, management of pharmacy inventory and other records, and keeping work areas and equipment clean and orderly.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous pharmacy technician experience required or pharmacy student. Previous hospital technician experience preferred. Basic knowledge of medication nomenclature.
