Under direct guidance and supervision from the Registered Nurse and the L&D Clinical Supervisor and indirect guidance and supervision from the L&D Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nursing Service Administration, the OB Unit technician assists with the care of the patient in the Labor and Delivery suite. May be responsible for the transportation of patients to and from the Labor and Delivery suite and for errands to other departments. The OB Unit Technician also assists in the care, preparation and maintenance of the delivery rooms, labor rooms, sterile and unsterile supplies and equipment. The OB Unit Technician is responsible for maintaining supplies and equipment, performing non-clinical nursing tasks and clerical and receptionist duties for the nursing unit.
High school diploma or equivalent. BCLS certification. OR Surgical Technician experience required. Comprehensive general clerical and computer skills required.
