This member of the pharmacy staff assists the pharmacist in performing his/her duties. This individual, under direct supervision of the pharmacist, assists in the preparation of unit dose medications, IV piggybacks, large volume parenterals, total parenteral nutrition solutions, and enteral feeding solutions. Other duties include: preparation and processing of purchase orders, management of receipt and stock of pharmaceutical supplies, management of pharmacy inventory and other records, and keeping work areas and equipment clean and orderly.

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.  Completion of the pharmacy technician training program is required.  Previous hospital technician experience preferred.  Basic knowledge of medication.
