A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Intern is completing a program preparing him/her for advanced practice Registered Nurse specializing in the care of neonates. The Intern, in collaboration with an NNP and Neonatologist develops skill in patient management activities for an assigned caseload of neonates within established protocols in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In addition, indirect patient care responsibilities include deevloping skills in role modeling, clinical consultation, resource, educator, and researcher. The majority of the activities focus on developing self-direction through support and guidance of the NNP. The NNP Intern practices within the framework of a collaborative relationship with an NNP. |
| Qualifications |

BSN. Currently registered nurse license in the State of Nebraska. Current BLS and NRP certifications. To be concurrently enrolled in the last semester of an MSN/NNP program at an accredited university. |
