General Summary:
The purpose of this position is to drive Product Support growth and profitability within the NMC AG Division by developing and implementing a strategic business plan. To be effective, the Product Support Sales Manager must establish an understanding of the following objectives and accountabilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Work closely with the Vice President of Product Support, Directors, and Regional Managers to develop sales programs needed to achieve company goals.
- Develop and monitor annual sales goals for each PSSR/ISR in all Product Support areas, ie, Service, Parts, CCR, CSA, etc.
- Provide direction to the PSSR/ISR team to help achieve NMC Customer Satisfaction goals.
- Maintain inter-departmental relations that foster overall company growth and profitability.
- Follow consistent, established policies and procedures across all branches and divisions.
- Target a diverse customer base through marketing efforts and promote our wide range of Product Support offerings.
- Provide information to Management in order to implement “yield management” strategies to effectively manage Product Support offerings in response to market conditions and established goals.
- Gather information specific to each region from the Regional Sales Managers and implement sales programs based upon this information.
- Work closely with the Regional Sales Managers to provide consistent messaging to customers and employees, and to foster growth, profitability and Customer Satisfaction in the region.
- Work closely with the Equipment Sales Managers and Regional Sales Managers to coordinate sales calls from the PSSR’s and Equipment Sales Representatives, especially on Machine Rebuild opportunities.
- Work closely with the Training Department to develop a comprehensive training program for Service Technicians and Parts personnel.
- Develop, in conjunction with PS Inventory Management, a Parts procurement plan for all brands of AG equipment (including application equipment).
Supportive Job Functions:
- Provide information to assist the Directors in creation of the annual forecast, budget, and long range planning.
- Understands all facets of financial reporting (P/L statements and Balance sheets) and along with controlling expenses within the company, monitors the G/L distribution of income and expenses to assure accurate reporting each month.
- Understands all Product Support measurements such as Productivity, WIP, Parts Turnover, Emergency Fee Expense, etc.
- Understands Sales Link and is able to extract information from it.
- Stays informed of market conditions (competitors and pricing trends) and customer needs and relays this information to the Directors.
- Analyzes the local markets and relays information to the Directors appropriately, reporting changes in competitive offerings, market stability, and growth opportunities.
- Occasionally makes direct customer contact to ensure customer satisfaction levels.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.*

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
- Must be a leader with great people skills, enthusiastic personality, a proven communicator, and possess the ability to motivate a sales team.
- Sound organizational skills with the ability to coordinate programs and logistics associated with the programs.
- Previous business or sales management experience is preferred. A lesser emphasis is placed on mechanical aptitude although this is very beneficial.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and DBS.
- Equipment/product knowledge (application, service).
- Working knowledge (overview)/support of every key position.
- Technical proficiency.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree preferred with additional training in the following areas:
· Understanding and working knowledge of the sales, service and systems operations
· Experience in the Agricultural industry or equivalent experience in a closely related industry. Some closely related industries would include Construction or Material Handling operations.
· Ability to perform and/or explain the job requirements of the PSSR position.
· Assessment techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating and reporting on the performance of each PSSR.
