Recovery Support Specialist
Columbus Office
2 Part Time Positions available
GENERAL SUMMARY: To utilize their personal recovery experiences directly with clients and/or their family and friends in offering support and guidance in their recovery processes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Provide and/or co-facilitate education sessions on substance dependency and/or mental health issues, recovery, etc.
· Work with CC SA clients on developing WRAP and Recovery/Relapse Plans.
· Advocate for clients at a Program, Divisional, Agency, and community level.
· Assist in the provision of Interim Services, e.g. education, consistent phone contact, assistance in the intake process, etc.
· Upon Request, serve as member of CC BHS Advisory Committee and other advisory and decision-making processes.
· Perform outreach and advocacy activities to the general community.
· Facilitate linking clients to formal and informal positive support systems, i.e. AA, NA, DRA, sponsors, etc.
· Report and Record keeping by: (a) Preparing reports and relevant records integrating available information to facilitate the continuum of care. (b) Charting pertinent ongoing information pertaining to the client. (c) Utilizing relevant information from written documents for client care. (d) Provide monthly reports on the number of clients’ services and the current status in treatment/counseling process. (e) Provide other reports as requested.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Must have personal recovery experience, preferably of at least 2 years in duration;
· Willingness to publically acknowledge and share their own recovery experiences;
· High School Diploma or equivalency required;
· Nebraska Driver’s License and Insurability.
*Catholic Charities expects any staff in a recovery program for substance abuse and/or mental illness, have a minimum of 2 years continuous recovery.
