Headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, PSI is the leading
outsourced provider of mail presorting services primarily to large
corporate customers. The Company operates out of twenty-five Operating
Centers throughout the United States. Customers include large and medium
volume mailers such as insurance companies, credit card processors,
service bureaus, financial institutions, lettershops, stock brokerage
firms, utilities and government entities.

MPTQM (Mail Preparation Total Quality Management)
Presort bureaus are key business partners of the U.S. Postal Service,
providing millions of pieces of presorted mail that can be entered
deeper into the system, thereby minimizing operational handling. In the
continuing efforts to make it easier for customers to do business with
the Postal Service, a standardized measurement system known as Mail
Preparation Total Quality Management (MPTQM) was developed. This joint
effort between the presort industry and the Postal Service is based on
the Total Quality Management and ISO 9000 principles and, basically,
ensures the quality of the presort product.
In order to qualify for this program, presort bureaus are required to
provide sufficient evidence and quality management to ensure that the
mail is prepared correctly.
Business mail passes through many stages before it arrives at the
delivery address. Its timely, intact arrival depends upon all the right
things happening along the way. MPTQM is designed to help Postal Service
business customers and their contracted agents ensure quality during the
design and preparation stages of the mail. If quality exists "up front",
then the Postal Service has a better opportunity to do a quality job
when it gets the mail.
