Position Description

JOB SUMMARY


 


Provides quality customer service to Goodwill store customers. Knowledge of retail register systems, item prices and required forms.  Stocks and rotates processed goods while maintaining an attractive store environment.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


·          Greets and assists customers and donors in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner and issue receipts as needed


·          Uses suggestive selling techniques


·          Responsible for controlling company assets and funds; balancing assigned cash drawer


·          Maintains a clean, organized, safe store  and production environment


·          Removes excess hangers from register area and places in designated hanger storage area


·          Assists coworkers in a courteous, professional and helpful manner


·          Appropriate use and storage of Goodwill tools, equipment and property


·          Required to attend monthly store meeting and in-service training when scheduled


·          Knowledgeable and ensures compliance of Goodwill policies and procedures


·          Performs simple maintenance duties as required


·          Must be able to work flexible hours as required in order to meet operational needs of the store


·          Processes sales transactions and donations efficiently and accurately according to retail operations policy & procedures


·          Salvages store items that have not been sold within the predetermined time frame or as instructed


·          Picks up items on floors, in dressing rooms, etc. and returns them to sales floor


·          Cleans store, including restrooms, dusts, sweeps, mops, etc.


·          Merchandises store in assigned area as instructed by store manager


·          Meet or exceeds daily goals in assigned areas


·          Assist in the distribution of processed goods to the sales floor


·          Meet or exceed the attendance expectations of this position


·          Actively maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well being of employees,


 customers, and participants.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE


·          GED or High School Diploma preferred


·          Minimum typing speed of 40wpm preferred


·          Knowledge of Computer applications preferred


·          Customer service experience required


·          Cash handling experience preferred

Background check required for store key holders.

          Sedentary


                Lifting up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers, and files.


                Walking and standing are required only occasionally.

                Lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds.


                Walking or standing to a significant degree, involves sitting most of the time with a degree of pushing and pulling.
