Position Description

Experience/Skills Required: Thorough knowledge of quality assurance; detail oriented; able to stay focused and follow instructions for duration of shift; team player; excellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of Microsoft applications; good math skills; ability to work independently and see a tasks and projects through to completion. Knowledge of ISO 9001; 2000 standards and ASQ Certifications are desired but not required. Ability to read rulers and pass color hue test.

Education: High school education or equivalent

Job Objective: The Quality Technician is responsible for assisting the Quality Manager with the timely, accurate and thorough monitoring and reporting of processes throughout the value stream, assuring compliance with customer and YORK established standards and specifications with strict adherence to processes.

Essential Functions:

1.Complies with all company and safety policies and procedures.

2.Assist with equipment calibration and care.

3.Conduct data collection and analysis as required.

4.Participate in improvement initiatives and projects.

5.Assist in management of the YORK Quality Management System including document control as required.

6.Perform internal audits as a member of YORK’s Internal Audit Team.

7.Responsible for the approval of labels and processes prior to press run

8.Responsible for the approval of roll end retains saved by press operators

9.Responsible for assembling, filing and updating color tolerance folders, color consistency files, pulling clear overlays prior to press run, etc

10. Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned

11. Collects and reviews reject information as assigned by Quality Manager
