Cardiac and Vascular Coordinator
Guides and directs professional and nonprofessional personnel including RNs, LPNs, LPN-Cs, stress test/EKG technicians, and echocardiogram/vascular technologists in the delivery of patient/family care during noninvasive cardiology procedures. Promotes the highest standard of care, assuring patient safety, comfort, and infection control in compliance with internal/external regulations, policies, and procedures.
Establishes, maintains, and promotes interpersonal relationships with physicians, other team members, patients, families, and visitors, while assuring confidentiality of patient information.
Assists with staff scheduling, work assignments, staff meetings, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and counseling.
Assists with selection, orientation, and development of staff.
Performs all modalities of stress testing, EKGs, Echocardiograhpy, signal averaged EKGs, holter,blood pressure monitors and Vascular testing.
Experience
Minimum of two years experience in cardiac and vascular noninvasive testing. One-two years previous supervisory experience and/or a management position in clinical health care.
Education/Licensure
Required: Registered echo cardiography technician or a registered Vascular technologist.
Preferred: BLS & ACLS certification.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to critically think/problem solve, continuous communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of and skill in performing cardiac diagnostic procedures, nursing and non-nursing procedures, EKG rhythms and abnormalities. Knowledge of EKG, stress, and holter equipment, and computer functions. Knowledge of vascular procedures and equipment.
